Coursetext is an online service that allows users to advertise textbooks and to contact one another. By using the Coursetext web site (the "Web site") you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (this "Agreement"). If you wish to become a Member and make use of the Coursetext service, read these Terms of Use. By using Cousetext, you indicate your acceptance of these Terms of Use.
This Agreement sets out the legally binding terms of your use of the Web site and your membership in the Service and may be modified by Coursetext at any time and without prior notice, such modifications to be effective upon posting by Coursetext on the Web site.
Term
This Agreement will remain in full force and effect while you use the Web site and/or are a Member. You may terminate your membership at any time, for any reason by using the Contact Us page. Coursetext may terminate your membership for any reason, at any time.
Payment & Transactions
Coursetext is only a platform on which advertisements can be placed. Any transactions resulting from these advertisements are by and between seller and buyer. Coursetext is no party in any of these transactions and not liable for any of the consequences of these transactions, including, but not limited to, non-payment, non-performance of seller.
Non Commercial Use by Members
The Web site is for the personal use of individual Members only and may not be used in connection with any commercial venture. Companies and/or businesses may not become Members and should not use the Service or the Web site for any purpose. Passwords and compiled names, photos, links, and Web site content are not to be transferred or copied from the Web site for use with any other product or service. Illegal and/or unauthorized uses of the Web site, including collecting usernames and/or e-mail addresses of members by electronic or other means for the purpose of sending unsolicited e-mail and unauthorized framing of or linking to the Web site will be investigated, and appropriate legal action will be taken, including without limitation, civil, criminal, and injunctive redress.
Content Posted on the Site
You understand and agree that Coursetext may review and delete any content, comments, photos or profiles (collectively, "Content") that in the sole judgment of Coursetext violate this Agreement or which might be offensive, illegal, or that might violate the rights, harm, or threaten the safety of Members.
You are solely responsible for the Content that you publish or display on the Service, or transmit to other Members.
The following is a partial list of the kind of Content that is illegal or prohibited on the Web site. It includes Content that:
- is patently offensive to the online community, such as Content that promotes racism, bigotry, hatred or physical harm of any kind against any group or individual;
- harasses or advocates harassment of another person;
- involves the transmission of "junk mail", "chain letters," or unsolicited mass mailing or "spamming";
- promotes information that you know is false, misleading or promotes illegal activities or conduct that is abusive, threatening, obscene or defamatory;
- displays pornographic or sexually explicit material of any kind;
- provides instructional information about illegal activities such as making or buying illegal weapons, violating someone's privacy, or providing or creating computer viruses;
- solicits passwords or personal identifying information for commercial or unlawful purposes from other users; and
- engages in commercial activities and/or sales without our prior written consent such as contests, sweepstakes, barter, advertising, and pyramid schemes.
Even though all of this is strictly prohibited, there is a small chance that You might become exposed to such items and You further waive Your right to any damages (from any party) related to such exposure.
You must use the Service in a manner consistent with any and all applicable laws and regulations.
You may not engage in advertising to, or solicitation of, other Members to buy or sell any products or services through the Service. You may not transmit any chain letters or junk e-mail to other Members. Although Coursetext cannot monitor the conduct of its Members off the Web site, it is also a violation of these rules to use any information obtained from the Service in order to harass, abuse, or harm another person, or in order to contact, advertise to, solicit, or sell to any Member without their prior explicit consent.
Registration
In order to use this website, a user must first complete the registration form. During registration a user is required to give their contact information (such as name and email address). This information is used to allow the user to make use of the service and to contact one another.
Membership
Coursetext may only be used be University students in the UK.
Buyers and Sellers
As mentioned in FAQ's you as users are responsible for the items you sell and the place you meet. Coursetext accepts no responsibility for any damages caused to people or property resulting from a transaction or meeting between buyer and seller. We ask that all users act sensibly and responsibly when meeting a buyer and/or seller and users accept full responsibility for any meeting they may arrange with someone contacted through Coursetext.
Special Offers
We send all new members a welcoming email to verify password and username. Established members will occasionally receive information on products, services, special deals, and a newsletter.
Correcting or Updating Personal Information
If a user's personally identifiable information changes (such as your e-mail address), or if a user no longer desires our service, you can update your information or unsubscribe entirely from the "My Account" page.
Disclaimers
Coursetext is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate Content posted on the Web site or in connection with the Service, whether caused by users of the Web site, Members or by any of the equipment or programming associated within the Service.
Coursetext is not responsible for the conduct, whether online or offline, of any user of the Web site.
Limitation on Liability
Coursetext.co.uk is not liable for any losses economic or otherwise, reputation, goodwill, damage to people or goods, or otherwise resulting from use of our services. Any dispute you may have with us may be reported. Again, we act only as an intermediary between buyer(s) and seller(s) and as an information service. Any serious disputes between buyer(s) or seller(s) should be reported to the police.
